DISCOVER THE HILLS OF TAIN L’HERMITAGE (FRANCE) BY BIKE
With Wine and Ride Tain, meet the winemakers of the Crozes Hermitage appellation, in Drôme des Collines, but also Saint Joseph in Ardèche. It is also an unprecedented opportunity to discover and exchange, in all intimacy, with craftsmen, creators and local producers of this part of the Rhone Valley, also called the Valley of gastronomy!
Beyond the presentation of unique, sometimes ancestral know-how, it is a question of allowing oneself to be immersed in the daily life of these essential players in our ecosystem, some of whom have never yet opened their doors to the general public, and whose tourist approach is unprecedented.
To join us, nothing could be simpler: get on board a TER train to the Tain l’Hermitage Tournon SNCF station, get off the train: you’ve arrived! If you prefer to carpool, we are 5 minutes from the motorway exit on the A7 and you will find a car park right next to the Wine and Ride Tain site.

To begin this first season, Wine and Ride Tain offers you its two main themes: Wine and Gastronomy and Wine and Crafts. These themes will be the focus of several visits, combining the discovery of the winemaker’s profession on the one hand, but also meetings with various local producers and immersion in the heart of the farm or the production workshop.
As a guiding principle, the oenological discovery remains the main activity of our adventure. With its rich terroir, the Rhone Valley has a majority of non-mechanisable vineyards, which makes the exploitation even more unusual, often using ancestral know-how. During each experience, a visit to one of these exceptional estates is included, completed by the discovery of the cellars, followed of course by a wine tasting.
During your bike ride with Wine and Ride Tain, you will discover the secrets of two appellations that share the territory on two distinct departments: the northern part of the Crozes Hermitage appellation, in Drôme des collines, and the Saint Joseph hillsides in Ardèche. These vineyards are made up of the red Syrah variety and the white Marsanne and Roussanne varieties. So many local wines to taste in the heart of our partners’ wineries: Domaines Vendôme, Domaine Delhomme, and the Olivier Dumaine winery.

WINES AND GASTRONOMY
Oenology and gastronomy often go hand in hand. Wine and Ride proposes this theme to allow everyone to awaken their taste buds by tasting 100% local products.
To be found in particular with this theme: La Chèvrerie des méjeans, La Ferme de Raffin, la Ferme Bobon…
The breeders and animal producers are carefully selected by Wine and Ride, which strives to work with responsible producers (use of environmentally friendly products, animal awareness, reasoned slaughter…)

SELECT THE DURATION OF THE DESIRED EXPERIENCE
“Full day”
A well thought out programme for the most motivated, from 9.30am to 5pm for a total cycling distance of 50km. This day tour includes a local lunch at the foot of the vineyards.
“Half day”
In the morning or afternoon, allow 4 hours for the whole activity, and 15 to 25 km to cover.
EXPERIENCE THE ADVENTURE ON AN E-BIKE (ELECTRICALLY ASSISTED BIKE) OR WITH YOUR OWN BIKE
Due to the topography of the Tain l’Hermitage wine region, Wine and Ride recommends reserving a bike to make the most of the experience. The hillsides of the Rhône valley are shaped by steep slopes, so using a VAE will allow you to enjoy the landscapes with peace of mind while limiting the physical effort required.

OPT FOR THE GOURMET FORMULA
A little bonus for the epicureans: focus on the Gourmet formula!
At the beginning of the activity, we offer you a sports snack (no matter how long the chosen experience is); and at the end of the activity, the sharing of a glass of friendship, i.e. the convivial tasting of a local wine, accompanied by an aperitif to nibble on (always local!), at the Wine and Ride Tain reception site after the handing over of the equipment.
